About the course
Learn about the exciting science of wellbeing & happiness and how you can use it in your coaching.
Hi, My name is Yannick Jacob. I am the former Programme Leader for the MSc Coaching Psychology at the University of East London and between 2015 and 2018 I lectured at the world's only Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. I'm part of the teaching faculties at Cambridge University and the International Centre for Coaching Supervison.
After more than 15 years of coaching clients as well as training and supervising countless life and business coaches, I've realized that every coaching client ultimately is looking for some way of feeling good or better about themselves. Whether that's a life of meaning and purpose, finding the love of their life or leaving a toxic relationship, whether it's experiencing more joy, hope, security or belonging, getting a promotion or increasing their income. In the end we're always chasing some form of happiness. While I don't think there are many universals in life, I can genuinely say that ALL of my coaching clients so far have - in some way or another - been trying to influence one of the building blocks of their psychological wellbeing.
Positive psychology (PP) goes into the heart of that matter equipped with a scientific approach and two decades of empirical data to explore what's right with people and what constitutes happiness beyond merely "feeling good". PP's evidence-based tools and interventions have helped me work with my clients to achieve their ultimate goals and, perhaps more importantly, they've made me a happier person. And it can help you too!
And don't worry, I won't tell you how to run your business. I believe in coaching and I know that "who you are is how you coach". So while other courses teach you a specific style of coaching, this course provides you with a range of pre-recorded videos, reading materials, examples, demonstrations, tools, a community of fellow learners, monthly live seminars and a space to think about and decide how YOU can best integrate positive psychology into your existing practice.
I'm looking forward to welcoming you on the course!
Yannick is immeasurably knowledgeable in his subject and his enthusiasm is infectious. I have found that the concepts he introduced have been invaluable both in my own life and in my coaching" (Asmara Goodwin)

James Ross-Smith: “I was blown away by this course. Yannick was a great teacher, combining metaphor, case study and coaching as he was presenting the course. I learnt a lot more than I expected too and got some great personal shifts, massive changes to my coaching style and finally made the career change I had been putting off for 9 years. Money and time very well spent!”
Asmara Goodwin: "I attended Yannick’s Positive Psychology weekend in September 2016. Yannick’s teaching style is relaxed and interactive and he made the course so fun that it was only on reflection afterwards that I realized just how much I’d actually learnt. Yannick is immeasurably knowledgeable in his subject and his enthusiasm is infectious. I have found that the concepts he introduced have been invaluable both in my own life and in my coaching – particularly the ideas about resilience which seem to be particularly pertinent when I am coaching my NHS colleagues!"

Definitely recommended!"
